iPhone 4 Video Wallpapers decreased battery by 1% in 14mins

I've been hearing all these posts on how Video Wallpaper drains the battery like crazy

So i left my iPhone 4 with a Video Wallpaper and after 14 minutes, the battery dropped down 1%

Going from 100% to 99% isn't accurate at all. It stays at 100% for about 15 minutes for me even if I'm using it. After that, the battery drains 1% every 3-5 minutes.

I bet Apple purposely made it so 100% stays on for awhile because they think they can trick idiots into thinking their battery life is amazing.

Edit: not calling you an idiot. I meant that Apple thinks were idiots.
 
Then again, how much time are you really going to spend on the home screen where the video is active? I don't think this makes a huge of a dent on battery as people think.
 
Your usage and standby are equal. Which mean that for the 14 minutes you left your phone the video wallpaper was still running.


Which is not a good thing. Video wallpaper doesn't stop when the phone is asleep.
 
How can we make our own video wall papers?
What format, what size, and where to put it on the phone to be able to set it as wall paper?

It's kinda like the light in the fridge. Does it really go out when you close the door? Does the animation stop when you aren't looking at it? How can you be sure?? :D
 
People who jailbreak and install things that are not supported by Apple have no right to complain about battery life. You're not using the phone as it was intended or designed. Jailbreaking is fine if that's what you want to do, but don't complain if things don't work well.

And FYI...I don't think the OP was complaining about the battery usage (if you'd actually READ the first post, you'd see that).

But, you know what they say. Opinions are like a**h**es...everyone's got one.
 
A negative and a positive about video wallpaper.

- no one will know the difference between video wallpaper and you watching a regular video on the iPhone so I don't really see the point in using it.

+ I don't think it matters about battery life since you're never far away from juice at work, school or home.
