Slideshow Play/Pause Button disappeared!

Am I missing something, or has my play/pause button (for slideshow) disappeared?

It's there.

You can only see it when you're viewing the thumbnails of a picture.

according to that, you should be able to press play within an individual photo.

I thought I was imagining it but you're right, it's gone. The original button was there in photo view, not just thumbnail view (see below), in fact that is the image still shown (incorrectly) on the iPhone pages at:

So maybe it is just an Apple gremlin that crept in. There is also a slightly more irate discussion of this issue (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9729875) on the Apple support forums.
