Sharing folders on OS-X

Hey, Im on a local school network and I would like to be able to share the contents of my external hard drive, but nothing else on my computer. I searched and couldnt find any way to do this. Is there? Can I choose just an individual folder to share? how? thanks

You could try and use SharePoints (http://www.hornware.com/sharepoints/) to set it up. It's a pretty handy utility for that kind of thing – it's donation-ware.

I'm not sure if this will work with external drives over a network, but it's worth a shot. Select the drive and open the info window (hit "apple" and "i"). From there you should be able to alter the permissions and let others access it.
