Something like this would be pretty cool for adding contacts on the iPod itself, etc. The Play/Pause could serve as a toggle for SHIFT, etc. Thoughts?

I lose cocktail napkins and business cards all the time, but I never lose my iPod!

Those of us who use our iPods away from our computers might.

you know, when I got my iPod, I thought I would hook it up to my computer every day, but it's been a week now. I don't see much reason to do that. I have this program that lets me put news on it, but there's no point, because the news it gives you is nothing more than headlines, and I can read more by sitting in front of a computer for 5 minutes...

The only thing about something like this is that it would be extremely slow.

now, if they made an attachment that could read your mind...

I think it would be a painfully slow way of typing...

an alternative would be using a FW microphone and using speech-to-text... which would be a big overhead for an iPod... i think once you got used to it, a scroll keyboard like this wouldn't be too bad...

you wouldn't be typing a book in this thing - just contact name / email / phone ... stuff like that.

Why not just have the ability to record voice notes and then you can type it in when you get back to your computer. I do agree though that there needs to be someway to edit the calendar and input data without being attached to a computer.

i like the idea of being able to input things into the iPod. Apple should admit that the apple is the next generation hybrid of an MP3 player and PDA.

How about a wireless beaming capability (like on a Palm)? So you can send your vCards to other iPod owners..." and I know this is a long shot, but also send music through wireless beaming..." So you can share your music with other iPod owners? I am probably dreaming but oh well,,,

We can dream, right?
