Does anyone know if Handbrake will take advantage of XGrid? This is taking too long. Just curious.

What's taking too long? The coming of Xgrid or the ripping of that DVD?
Xgrid is supposed to be able to work with any app, right? I would LOVE to network some processor power for ripping my DVD collection...

you'd still be limited to the how fast the hard drive could write data to a drive depending on ATA/SCSI/RAID/RPM etc, and how fast the DVD-ROM can read the data. In other words the bottleneck is the hard drive, and DVD-ROM not the processor power.

Actually, the ripping went pretty fast. Its the encoding that's taking a while (about 25-30 minutes for each 12 minute episode). I'm making them 50MB files with 112kbps mp3 audio. They look great, and don't notice much difference if I used 100 MB files.
