If you read the article, it says they will also have White Pages along with the Google search.

I'm really glad Google will finally be added to sherlock because I think the other search engines it uses are sub-par. But what I would like even more is an option to actually purchase plane tickets rather than just checking flight times.

i don't think that a search channel is at all necessary. if i'm going to launch sherlock and do a google search, then load that result in my browser, it seems like i'm adding an unnecessary step. with the movie listings, yellow pages, dictionary, translation, etc. i can get all of the info i need without a browser, but a search function will require a browser in the end. package tracking is a good idea. it would be incredible if a 3rd party developer could make a channel that would access the most popular types of web forums (vBulletin, YaBBSe, etc.) and allow you to peruse forums without a browser. if only i could program...

I would like to see weather, public transport timetables, world times and currency converter channels implemented into Sherlock. At the moment, I rarely open the programme. Maybe only for the dictionary or to search Apple's knowledge base.

Apple posted a Sherlock channel SDK. So theoretically a gifted programmer could develop all those channels.

i just had a crazy idea. by subscribing to the apple developer channel, you get an html rendering item for sherlock 3. i thought that this was pretty cool, then i remembered that this is probably just the same thing that apple uses to render ebay lists and the applecare database. wouldn't it make sense for a future version of sherlock to be a help viewer, since all the help viewer is is an html renderer? and didn't apple hire dave hyatt (the brain behind chimera) to work on their "help viewer"? i know that sherlock is supposed to be an "un-browser", and perhaps it's all coincidental. maybe i'm reading too much into this.
p.s. after doing a little digging, i found a few other sherlock 3 channels (other than the 3 that were just posted on versiontracker and of course, massinova)
