Usually means a problem with M$'s servers, not all that uncommon I'm afraid. It'll go away eventually.

MSN always seems to be doing some kind of maintenance. I don't know how many times I've seen the dialogue box pop up, saying, "MSN Messenger will close in five minutes due to scheduled maintenance..." Perhaps you tried logging on during one of those times?

Chundles is right in saying that it's not uncommon at all, and is likely MSN's fault.

Last night crazy things were happening with mine too. I got signed out every 10 minutes and while I was signed in, half of the time whatever I typed I got the message "...could not be delivered". It's still not keeping me logged in. :(

There's no need for it, but it just feels right when used in the same sentence as "Microsoft."

Use aMSN. They even allow for video webcam IM like on the Windows version. ;)

Mine's been down now for over 12 hours - they better be doing some kick-arse maintenance.
