i believe that iteration of it is new. wasnt the itunes logo blue during 2.x ??

Haven't seen that one before but it is the same as the iTunes 2 one with 3 quavers instead of two. Also the text beside it reflects iTunes 2 - 10 band equalizer...iPod support

Apple have used that logo since iTunes 1. It is merely an alternate logo and was used in some advertising and at some AppleStores.
