Ok, now I don't know whether this is supposed to go here or not, but I figured what the heck....

Got this from looprumors.com, it sounds interesting....

iPhoto was the first iApp to be designed exclusively for OS X. We have a feature set on iPhoto 2.0 from a reliable source. It is said to be introduce on its first birthday on January 7th.

- The new version will integrate support for most of today’s digital cameras

- Improved overall speed when resizing photos and window

- Support for burning slideshows and albums onto disc

- Deleted photos archived until emptied

- More sophisticated touch-up tools

- Sharing photos allows you to choose the mail client. Default is still Mac OS X Mail

- Red, yellow and green ‘lights’ are recessed mimicking iChat’s newest update, improved interface

- Several bug fixes

it seems like those updates don't require a whole version number increase... i mean ical's 1.0.1 update was incredible... this sparse offering of features certainly doesn't deserve the 2.0 status...

if iphoto 2 does appear at macworld, i bet it will do *much* more

i would really like to be able to move the order of photos around in the libraries

That's true but then again when Apple moved from iTunes 2 to iTunes 3 I didn't think the feature set really called for a whole version number increase. Smart playlists and audible.com support were really all that was added...I think anyway.

well before that the difference between 1 and 2 wasn't incredible... the main new feature was auto sync with the ipod... but both of those upgrades had at least one major, new feature... this rumor doesn't show any really incredible or new features.

unless they release an iCam... that would justify the version increase :-)
