The new macs at mwsf were running 10.2.4, any big updates, or just adaptions for the new software (iapps).
Also is Keynote as great as I think its going to be?

Yeah we need someone there to tell us, but everyone who was there is still playing Unreal Torney
Oh well, I really don't expect much, but if I remember correctly I was at MWSF and posted on the duals processor PowerMacs like *needing* 10.2 .
I really only expect some new features.
Note: These 10.2.4 upgrade is only on the 17" powerbooks so this is probably for the keyboard lights and Firewire 2 I suppose, right?

10.2.4 looks good so far...I'm guessing it's less bug-free and has some updated iApps and god knows what else.
I can't wait. Asked apple store genius about 10.2.4 and they didn't know anything. They didn't even know that 10.2.4 were on the new PowerBooks. I suppose we are one of the few geeks who have noticed 10.2.4 because everyone else thought they were running 10.2.3.

I don't know what it is like since I wasn't at Expo, but I do believe we will see it come out on the 25th of January along with the iApp updates and the iLife intro. Apple will probably also include the updater on the CD with iLife for those who buy it so they don't need to take the time to download it. That would make sense if 10.2.4 is required for the updated iApps to function.

10.2.4 only adds support for Airport Extreme and other new hardware aspects launched on the 17" Powerbook. It is only on the 17" PowerBook at the Expo, not the 12". Don't get too excited:rolleyes:

10.1.5 is required for the iLife package. Says so on the purchase page in the Apple Store.

Do you know for sure? What's your source? Unless you can provide indisputable proof that it's only for the new Albooks and AE then please don't speak so condescendingly.

I suspect that while 10.2.4 adds the new hardware support that you mention, it in all likelyhood adds other features and bug fixes.
I suspect that since the 17" AlBook required 10.2.4, that is why it was on there. It may not have been on other machines as 10.2.4 may not be quite ready for shipping. For all we know, 10.2.4 may not be coming out for another month or so.
Remember they need to go through the test cycle for 10.2.4 before they can release it.

I hope that month passes quickly then, because 10.2.3 has been excessively buggy in my opinion.

My friend purchased a TiBook 667 like a couple of days ago in Tokyo and it's running 10.2.4. I found that out when I tried to install 10.2.3 update for her, assuming it's still running an old Jaguar since it's an old model.
I found it very weird since that model is totally out of date, but there are a number of major retailers in Tokyo which sell 667s at discounted price now. That 667 could have been a part of a clearing-the-warehouse deal from Apple. Only that could explain the inclusion of 10.2.4 in TiBook 667.
So 10.2.4 is not just for 17" PowerBook.
In any case, if that new version is available, why doesn't Apple release it publicly now, I wonder???

If it does update bluetooth, will this also improve existing bluetooth adapter functionality as well? I find that it works great except sometimes i get an sms my phone beeps, nothing comes up on the mac's screen and it flashes new sms on the t68i screen but then i can't find the message in the inbox!

10.2.4 can't be a required upgrade to use Airport Extreme because the 12PB have AirPortX, but don't have 10.2.4.

Impossible. 10.2.4 can't be just for Airport Extreme, etc. Just downloaded 10.2.4 (hehe :D the great things about being an Apple Developer Connection member with a seed key!) and checked it out...great! not as bug free as I thought it would be!
