anyone know any good ringtone programs i can use to upload ringtones (mp3 tones or anything) to my bluetooth cell phone. I'd like to be able to make them if I could. Please let me know. Thanks.

I use the built in bluetooth file exchange to put mp3's on my phone.

yeah, but don't you have to shorten the mp3 length? not really that technologically advanced. was wondering if there was a simple program for that.

I've always put entire mp3's on my phone. I have lots of room and it's typically a mp3 player. I'm sure you can shorten them in garageband though.

If you select the song from your iTunes library and right click (control + click) choose "get info" and enter the appropriate start/stop times (assuming you only want part of a song) then go to preferences, advanced -> Importing -> MP3 Encoder -> and I chose custom setting to 64 bit rate 22 khz sample rate and mono channels....

go back to your editted song right click and choose convert selection to mp3

iTunes should then give you your ringtone formatted song... drag to desktop and use bluetooth exchange

I use Audacity. I open the tune, and just mark the track from the point I don't want it to continue, then delete, and export as MP3.

Xingtone ringtone maker... formats a song as a ringtone and uploads it to your phone over standard SMS text message... no cables, bluethooth, etc. needed.

Like bubba said,

you can edit whatever you want in iTunes by changing the length of the song, and converting it.

no need for third party stuff.
