problems with Canon S230 and iPhoto

I just got my new Canon S230 digital camera in the mail today. I took a few photos and imported them into iPhoto, and everything went great.

Now, an hour later, everytime I plug the camera in, iPhoto freezes. I have tried restarting my computer, and it makes no difference.

i appreciate any input any of you might have.

Hmm... I used to have a Canon S200 and never had that problem. Have you tried deleting your iPhoto preferences or importing the photos from the camera with Image Capture instead of iPhoto? Also, which version of iPhoto are you using, on which version of OS X?
