Are keynote files able to be opened using powerpoint? I have to do a presentation and wanted to use Keynote to do it, yet i don't have a laptop, and would have to borrow my roomate's, except that it's a dell. let me know if i have any exporting options into other windows based programs. thanks in advance.

Keynote exports PowerPoint files, so just make your presentation in Keynote (don't bother with the transitions since I doubt they'll transfer) and then export as a PowerPoint file.

That's it.

i did an ppt export from knote with the cube transition and here is what i can assess:

-bkgrnd is done as an image
-trnsitions are done to use the closet matching ppt equivilent.
-txt and fnts are done for you
-all audio, qt, animation and non-supported graphics files are lost

thats bout it. good luck

When export a QT movie it gives you the option to save a QT interactive show and even gives you the option to control the speed of the animations and transitions. it works pretty good for me. I have given presentation to our sales force they can use in their crappy peecee laptops.

if he exported to qt new slides will show up with a click of the mouse. transitions are kept and run well
