I'm looking for a simple free/shareware photo manipulation program. Something that can cut and paste bits from one photo onto another. (Nothing too fancy; I'm just trying to see what various accessories would look like on my scooter.) Thanks!

Try Googling "X11 GIMP"

If you need more functions than this, then Lemkesoft's GraphicConverter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/en/graphdownld_en.htm) should do everything that you need. It has a UB version. It even accepts Photoshop plug-ins. Many new Macs ship with GraphicConverter preinstalled.

Seashore (http://seashore.sourceforge.net/index.php) is free and open source.
If you do this type of thing regularly, consider buying Photoshop Elements. It's a great package and has a great price to boot.

No copy and paste (or selection tools at all) as of yet. One day it'll have them...
