I am leaving town tomorrow and am wondering: In the extremely unlikely event my computer crashes on me, will AppleCare send me a new OSX install disc?
I am actually more afraid of my existing disc getting broken or lost, so am opting to leave it home.
Logical thinking, eh?

I would imagine that the disc is copy protected. I have backed up my files, and will have a FW HDD with me. I worry that OSX will take a dump.

I don't think Apple will send you replacement discs if yours are still technically available and functioning. Have you tried installing OSX onto the Firewire drive so you can boot from it, if necessary? :)

I have never seen a copy-protected Apple CD or DVD.

I have made backup copies of my install discs. Never had any copy protection issues.

Awesome... backing up now.
BTW, do I need to copy disc 2? All I would need to do is restore the system folder.
Ideas?
