10.4.8 USB problems?

I've noticed this today transferring files from my Power Mac G4 at work to my iMac Core Duo at home using my USB flash drive. Whenever I transfer files Finder, Safari, and Exposé slow to a crawl. Has anyone else noticed this? I haven't done any file transfers using my flash drive since before I installed 10.4.8.

On my Power Mac G4 the load numbers hit 3-4.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

My biggest problem with Finder is how it slows down so much when playing with USB and network devices. I haven't personally noticed any difference in 10.4.8 or later though. What sort of slow-down are we talking about? :)
