View Full Version : Very Stupid Question...

I'm trying to streamline my workflow, and I find that my old habit of using folder icons like this is pretty inefficient:

I'd like to use this view, but every time I change it to this view, and then relaunch a Finder window, it's back to the folder view. Is there a way to make it stay on this view?

Thanks in advance.

Possibly, got to Finder Preferences.
Under the General tab, select:
Open new windows in column view.

When you open a new finder window it will default to what that window is set too. So navigate to your default new finder window (looks like yours is set to HD) and change the view in there then close it. Then whenever you open a new finder window (HD window) it will show that view.
My default finder window is set to documents and list view.
EDIT: Sorry I re-read your post again. You want to view ALL windows in column view, so do what Bluevelvet says. :D Mine works with the default finder window.

It's just way easier for me when trying to grab sets of 7 images for QTVR's and getting them sorted into the right folders using that view.
I love you, still. :D
Thanks again, folks.

Sacrilege! I couldn't live without column view, and postively loathe both the icon view and the other foldery one with the triangles.
Isn't it funny the different way people do things?
I'm with Lau, I loves me some column view.

...the other foldery one with the triangles.
List view. True hardcore. :D
I keep production notes in the info column and use the colours to sort work priorities.

I hate how if you delete a 'child' in column view, it bounces back and selects the parent folder
However deleting an object in list or icon view leaves nothing selected which is worse imho. Looking forward to the new finder in 10.5 :)

That is exactly my point, well except the QVTR part. Panos or even photos in general. List views are usually easier for me.
