Wow, interesting.. If you add up everything(iPhone.org, tie up with Ericson and Sun for a new wireless device and the never ending PDA rumors ),
looks like Apple is having some consumer device, its too early to say what it is.. something major coming up in few months..

I've been of the opinion that there will be "No PDA". Just like Steve said. However, I had not seen these photos. Are these new? The date of the article is from Jan. Maybe you guys have gone through the motions with these photos already but DAMN! that thing looks sweet! Somebody pinch me.

Sorry, I'm not buying it. I think we'll see another handheld (i.e. not iPod) from Apple, but I doubt it will be any of these.

... and its not even real news at that!
I would love to see a Apple PDA but it has all ready been etabished several times that those were fakes or at the absoult most they are proto types. there probably 10 threds titled "Why spymac is full of ****" or some derivitive of that.

I think you guys are negative. I have seen about 7 people that have put the spymac video on layer and filter tests, and it is real footage. You people just dont WANT to believe apple is making a PDA because Steve said they werent. Seems to me with these wireless deals, Quicktime 6, and all these rumors, you are wrong. I am not saying that SpyMac is a great rumors site, but those pictures and videos seem EXTREMELY friggin real. :o

those pictures look really real eh? and if the vids are real as a previous reply post says they were, than maybe it is an early protoype, the only thing i can think of for the OS is something new, maybe based on the mini os running the signature tablets @ the apple store. I asked what it is and the mac genius said it was apple pos 1.3.1 which for retail people it pos means point of sale system, every computerized cash register has one. Then i said oh i was hoping it was a reincarnation of the newton os, and all he did was smile. So thats a clue of sorts, oh and the other cool thing that happened when i was there was that a WWF superstar the big show bought an ibook 14 inch and an ipod and i got my picture taken with him and if i wasnt lazy i'd post it. OK beyond that the minute the ipod came out back in november i went to the store and they showed me one of the prototype models they got to play with @ the store and i said what i device do you think is next, and the guy said he thinks it'll be a digital camera, which sorta makes sense its the right size and form factor, however my personal opinion is that they will release modules like a camera or DV cam module as a firewire add on rather than make new products. ok getting back to the PDA thing it looked really real and if its a hoax its an expensive one to go and alter a pda and os to look like that. and at macworld that graphic thing, a tablet type deal picture on the welcome packet! and what do i think the iwalk is? well anyone seen tomb raider the movie? well she had something called the ericsson mobile or personal communicator, a wireless PDA handheld thing, they had a whole feature on ericsson.com about it but now it has been mysteriously removed. so! ericsson, sun, apple to deliver wireless media system, ok and also ericsson is teamed with sony in its mobile phone division now, so maybe this iphone is a spawn of the i walk? well I'm in college and now i'm thinking of switching to a tech major just to go work for apple and get to play with the cool stuff. Heck i even emailed Wheels of Zeuz, Steve "WOZ" Wozniaks new company asking if they needed tech interns saying all i needed was a cot in the corner, a power jack, and an internet connection :) Or if i dont get to work for apple, i could go work for the devil (gates) and uh intentionally screw up lines of code for new products :) well sorry for the long post but i needed to share! oh and the ibook 14 inch sucks! i'm not an apple basher but i've got the 12 inch rev. a and it rocks! the screen on the 12 inch is much sharper compared to the 14 inch, the pixel arrangement complements the resolution. oh well thats my ranting and raving for the week, and someone please check out my post about customizing the ibook! :D

1. Try not to step in it.
2.Pick the 'shrooms off it.
Go back through all 20+ Threads on this subject before posting a new one. Particularly if none of the "evidence" is newer than 2 years old. Oh, and if it's from Spymac.......forget it. Those boys have WAAAAAAAAYYYY too much time on their hands.
A couple dead give-aways: Old colour schemes. Un-Mac-like design ("wheel" on iWalk???). Palm parafinaglia.
I think the camera is a possibility, but NOT a PDA.Go look around, search for "PDA", you'll discover why those threads are DOA.

fellas what you think is a prototype for a new pda-thingy from apple looks to be nothing more than a newton in some sort of docking cradle. come on, you guys can remember the newton right? bulky, expensive, ahead of its time. There is no way Apple would make a machine like this for a couple of reasons:
1) its black. the new color/design scheme for apple is while/metal/translucent plastics
2) That thing is pretty damn big. if you have ever used one of these things you would realize right away that it wouldn't sell to today's consumers. I'm not saying that the newton wasn't (or isn't) a great machine, but people today want small and portable, not big fast and with a keyboard. which brings me to the next issue...
3) does that look like a keyboard that belongs to a brand new apple-made device? a circa 1997 portable keyboard yes; 2002 ultralight, no
4) the multicolor apple logo is no longer around. it was retired in favor of the white apple logo. (i think this was back when the lombard powerbook g3 was introduced)
This thing is nothing more than a newton in a cradle (probably one of the last models, 2000 or 2100). you can pick them up on ebay for not too much.

Those iWalk pictures came out a very long time ago. And there were videos that went along with them. The videos appeared to be fake, however, as text on the screen of the iWalk stayed fixed while the iWalk itself moved.
I would love it if it were real. But I suspect it is not. When these pictures came out, it was rumored that the iWalk would be out before the new iMac came out. It hasn't arrived yet...
And look at the original post dates.

Alright, I am getting pissed off now. I have looked at the videos about 200 times, and I have NEVER seen this. Run them through tests, and you wont see it. This is what happened.
Someone said, "the text jumped on the PDA" and that guy is probly running a g3/233. These videos are not superb quality, but I am pretty sure that is an APPLE PROTOTYPE or PDA.
As for the iCam thingy, that is pretty dam cool. I hope it doesnt just take photos, it should record "Quicktime 6" video. Maybe we can put an airport card in it and stream live video! :D :D :p

We've got ten years each and lots of rumors on ya. Run all the tests you want. After compression it doesn't mean anything. iWalk was a cruel joke. Go read the other threads.

Back to iCam. That would be sooo damn cool. I guess it would be a white like the ibook and it will reecord mpegs in good quality. I am getting so excited, Im gonna go make my own model in photoshop! :D

I figure it'll be a Sony mini-DV hybrid re-cased with a 5Gb HD and similar controls to iPod. Apple and Sony have a known patent-sharing agreement.

The whole PDA thing may be overdone. Especially in some of these forums, but....
Tokyo is the Gadget captital of the world. What could apple introduce in Tokyo to make everybody there (and here) go WOW!!!! Ok, I know G5 DT, PB, G4 iB all come to mind, but I am talking gadgets. Gadgets to fit the Digital Hub. PDA, or something to that degree, could fit. Any ideas???

iWidget, the future of computing! Only iWidget can store all your essential data while playing music, taking pictures, filming movies and taking PCS voicemail. Yes, iWidget.......just plug it into the Firewire port on your Mac and all your M$ software dissappears in a flourish ! With the new iWidget Macusers can now use Wintel machines! That's right! Just plug it in via the Firewire to ATA adapter and all those nasty M$ products go away in a flash of Linux! In fact, if you order now Apple will include a free dual G4 Wozcard that replaces that crummy Athlon or Intel!
New iWidget! Bend over Bill cause here it comes! Just $19.95. :D :D :D :D ;)
