Is there a way to disable dashboard and keep it off after start up? I find I never use it so it just hogs memory.

If you close all widgets, it uses near to no memory (less than 1 MB).:)

ah, yah. i guess i'll just turn off all the widgets. what's onyx?

a must have for any OSX user, IMO. Can do several maintenance related things and more for free.
