Cool.
I have a 5 gig. What do you think about the new buttons and scrollwheel? I'm quite fond of my old one (2nd revision I think). I really like the way my wheel actually turns under my thumb. I also like the buttons around the wheel instead of in a row.

I'm a BIG fan of the old set of buttons
The main reason I got the 30 gig though was because I needed the extra space (I have 10 gigs of tunes, 5 gigs of backup data, and the rest for backing up video files)
I sucked it up and went with the new button design, but I was happy because:
1. the new design is MUCH MORE durable....the unit feels so much more solid
2. the touch screen buttons are a bit overresponsive, but that's part of what makes the unit more durable and put together
3. lastly, the CURVE design is much nicer than the sharp edges of the old ones
so overall....I'm very happy with my purchase...I'll get use to the new buttons and stuff, but the new units just feel a lot more durable and tougher....you really gotta get one in your hand to feel it
on the other hand....the size difference isn't too much....so if you're happy with your 5 gigger, then stick with it
and lastly --- the iPod is an EXCELLENT way of backing up files

My question is, why do people leave their stickers on their digital cameras? Take them off people!

i hate stickers. this is one thing that makes apple so great. they don't put a bunch of ugly stickers on their boxes. we don't need to have a "G4 Inside" sticker to feel superior or anything. lol.

cool pictures.. your photographic vision and sight is kinda good, but i guess you should own a better cam having better macro shot quality... can you give the brand name of your cam, so we'll have an idea of the brand..
whatsoever...
it was great to see the 30gb version of the new iPods, and if it is thinner then the 5gb older one, i just cant wait to hold my own thin 15gb ipod in my hands!.. :)
and in my opinion, the port covers dont look so odd on the chrom plate of ipod..
i dont like the new button design, i also like my own 10gb iPod, but i think, as you get used to the oversensitive touchpads, you will have much more satisfaction and ease comparing to the old iPods...
one more time, apple rises up the level of unbelievablity.. :)

@ shadowfax.
what if i give you a g5 machine today? but u would have to wear a bright green (or pink :D) t-shirt with "970 inside" or "give me 5... G5", while giving away stickers?
would u do it? ;)
take care guys.

take care guys. nah. that would be sacrilegious. That's like asking, "what if Apple were just like microsoft?"
then I'd buy a PC and trash my mac, because i didn't sign up for the "ousted" company because they were like all the others only hated. the fact that apple doesn't put stupid stickers on their boxes ia a very important reflection of the overall philosophy of their design. can't be trashed or sold out on. i won't stand for it.

In the meantime you can marvel at the picturess at http://www.stanc.net/ipod2/ where they show a new 15 GB iPod with a 2nd gen 20 GB iPod – the difference in size is just baffling IMO.

Wow that is thin! How thick were the 20GB iPods? I opted for a 0.73 in. thick 30GB myself. How much thinner is that than the 20GB?
