ive noticed that the buttons (widgits is what some people call them) on top of iPhoto and iMovie are very close together. Not spaced together liek any of the other metal brushed apps. Has anyone else noticed this?

yes, they look different to other apps, for example safari... strange little thing...

safari sometimes gets the buttons in the webpages messed up as well, but since it is beta this is acceptable I guess. There are some simple interface glitches here and there in Jaguar, but they'll probably be fixed in 10.3

Here is a capture of what i mean. Its not the sunken buttons but instead they seemed to be pushed close together.

Looks like a design flaw. Guess the designers ran out of room?

Nice Photoshop Work. Too bad you have too much time on your hands.

Weird.....

I just looked at my iPhoto, and the buttons are exactly the same as your post picture. Very strange.....I never noticed it before, but then again, I don't use iPhoto that much. Perhaps a bug in one of the many system updates we've gotten recently?

i did not photoshop that at all. iMovie and iPhoto are both liek that on my system. They are the only two apps like that. I even did a clean install last night and it was still like that when i reinstalled.

Its like that on everyone's ever since 10.2.3 and the iPhoto/iMovie updates, yet another indication that Apple doesn't even follow their own Human Interface Guidelines...

Here is another capture. Notice how iCal's are spaced and iMovie and iPhoto are not.

Yep they're the same on mine.

Anyone considered this might be a new standard? I mean, occasionaly lil' changes like that become standard - for one reason or another.

Who knows...

no, it sounds like he's one of the zen masters of PS who can spot a photoshop just from looking at it because it's not what he was expecting to see...

matt

p.s. does anyone else get frustrated with people who think they can spot a fake from a mile away just because they haven't taken the time to see if it's real or not?

Perhaps it is going to be a new UI standard. I guess I could deal with it. It isn't that bad.

IIRC, they became sunken in 10.2.3 and cramped in 10.2.6, but I could be misremembering (I have smoothstripes on, so all my widgets are sunken).

This was introduced in 10.2.5.

That was uncalled for.

He is NOT lying, nor did he photoshop that. The iMovie and iPhoto buttons on my iBook, iMac, and any other machine running the latest versions of the software all look like that. Here's what it looks like on my machine.
