So,

I don't restart my computer all that often, but I noticed that my computer icon wasn't updating the specs for it (I have the preference set to display the extra info for the drive). so i restarted my computer.

When it came back up, it will no longer accept my password to login. Also, I had it set to automatically login. So I'm not sure why its asking me. But it wont accept the password anymore.

Also, a little bit before I restarted, I insalled Macromedia Contribute 8 and it asked if it could access my keychain, then I deleted it (it was a 30 day trial anyways), could this have anything to do with it?

Try restarting again, if that doesn't help then contact apple about a possible default password your OS has reverted back to.

Just out of curiousity, what are you posting on?

You can reset the password if you boot from the OS X install/restore CD.
