Does anyone have info on when Macromedia may release a OS X native version of their multimedia authoring software?

I have no idea when Director will be released for 10. I hope it comes soon. What version do you have?, I have 8.5. I love it so much.

I'm learning 8.5 too. Right now I'm delving into the amazing world of lingo. Pretty neat stuff. I hope Macromedia doesn't rest on it's laurels.

For me lingo is as usefull as an Atari computer to do 3D animation. After Flash came out I'm so in peace with the world.

But I do hope it will be pretty soon. Macromedia is very slow on their updates, and I really dont like that about them.

From memory, I seem to recall that it will be Macromedia's last product to come to OSX. I think we are looking at september/ october time unfortunatly!!! Its a great program but its very complex I think (+ not due for an feature update for some time --> wait until next version to bring it to OSX.

While it's true that Flash has similar functionality to Director, it is not as robust. It's an animation program that has evolved into a web-app program. Director's scripting is much more powerful.

I hear ya. The transition from Director 6 to 7 was horrible.
Then again, Adobe's not so great either. Anyone else go from Premiere 4 to 5 and feel completely lost?
