IE dead, but MSN for OSX alive & well!

Today, I saw an almost full-page ad in the USA Today for MSN for Mac OS X. Yes, the ad was only for OS X users. I'm not to familiar with MSN8, but it got me thinking about it.

Does MSN8 come with it's own special browser? Maybe they're killing IE to concentrate on this new software package (MSN8) to get people to browse the internet.


I'm curious about it. If they have a free trial period I may give it a try.

Has anybody used it on OS X yet? What did you think?

Has anybody ever used AOL's new software with their own DSL/Cable connection? What did you think?

i'm baffled as to why microsoft even bothers with msn for osx. who uses it? there are relatively few mac users of aol, i can't imagine there would be more than 10 people total using msn. however, the IE question is interesting.

isn't that mozzy based now? presumably its essentially a hacked mozilla to enable the aol keywords stuff.

I didn't think of that. MS might be trying to get people to use MSN. I'm surprised there was a full-page add advertising only the Mac version. I wonder if IE is integrated into the MSN software. Does anyone know?

Imagine if they offered the $400 rebate with the purchase of an iBook, if you suscribe to a two year contract?

You mean the latest version of the AOL client? Yeah I have AOL plus for OS X, and I have cable internet. It's okay...it takes a little while to sign on (well 10-15 seconds) but I don't really have any problems with it.

On another note, has anybody used the beta of AOL Communicator? I downloaded the beta, but I hate it, it takes about a minute to load...it's much nicer for me to just open AOL and check my mail that way. I think Communicator might be out on final release now, but I'm not going to try it.
