Hey Everyone,

I just converted to Mac and I'm still familiarizing myself with OS X. One thing that is driving me nuts is the position of windows or programs when they open. For example, when a buddy messages me in iChat, the new message always pops up in the upper right corner. Even after I drag it somewhere else on the screen, the darn things still open in the upper right corner of the screen. Then you take Finder and it pops open in the left upper area, bt not all the way to the corner.

Is there any way to set the default opening position for various programs?

download Chax (free), it's a nice iChat add-on and what you're describing is a feature. :)

Is there something else that can do this for the rest of OS X apps?

Open the finder window in question, move/resize it, and close it. It should be where you left it.
