Saving backgrounds

Is there a way to save backgrounds from webpages? I know on a pc it is just right clicking and using the "save background as" option but I can't get it to work. All I can do it save as a web archive but that doesn't save just the background.

Is the background a pattern or a picture, and what do you want to do with it when you have it?

in firefox, just right click the background of the webpage, then "view background image", then save that image
