Learning to creat a widget (Dashcode)

Hello, I have downloaded a beta copy of Dashcode from Apple's developer website and I would like to learn how to create a widget that will take text entered into a text field, send it off to a website (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/LNPControllerServlet?path=lnppromo1) and see if the user is IN. Then have it whether they are or not.

I have zero knowledge of how to code this. How would I go about doing this?
