MBP + Monitor + Full screen games?

Hey all I just bought a new MBP
I was wondering if it's possible to run games (specifically Warcraft III) fullscreen on your monitor and not the laptop display. I can get it to run windowed mode on my monitor but I can't fullscreen it... And if it's possible can I turn off my laptop display when running the game?

wow okay.. i just started up wc3 after i posted this and it seems to be working in fullscreen on my monitor... weird

Just run your laptop in closed-lid mode, and you'll be set. :)

Close the lid (obviously), and after the MBP goes into sleep mode hit your space bar or click the mouse or something and it should wake back up using only your external monitor

that doesnt seem to work
and kinda off forum topic but
how can i get quicktime to fullscreen on my external monitor
if i try, it'll just move down to the mbp display and fullscreen there
