Problems with Canvas in FCP 4

I am having problems with the canvas in FCP 4. Most of the time when I am viewing footage in the timeline, then stop, the frame on which I stopped the playhead on is always up on the canvas no matter where I put the playhead on the timeline after that. I can still see where I am in the timeline on my NTSC monitor, but the canvas is busted.

The only way to fix it is to close the sequence then open it again, or quit FCP and start again. Has anyone else had this problem, or is it not a problem at all just a new feature in FCP 4 that I don't understand how to use.

Any imput advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah it is pretty espensive, but I upgraded and my work paid for it, so thats not expensive for me at all.

I can't believe nobody has come across this, I wish someone could help me, its really a big bother.:(
