i admit it. i love to play with the gimp, but i am not very knowledgeable. i stumbled across a gimp plug-in registry site and downloaded some plug-ins, and i have no clue how to get them into the gimp. could anyone clue me in? if i can figure it out and get them in and working, i'm gonna go back and get me a bunch more, cause there's nothing funner than the gimp. thanks.:D

thanks for the link. i've given it a try, but all i get is a msg from the terminal window saying error : couldn't find file to build/install/uninstall

the manual says nothing about where these files have to be to find them. could you give me a clue there? i've tried having them just sitting on the desktop, on the hard drive folder, in my home folder, and i've otherwise searched for what i thought might be a good place. i just am not smart enough to put them where they belong. thanks:confused:

First, copy the plug-in[s] to your plug-in directory (typically /usr/local/lib/gimp/$VERSION/plug-ins/).

After copying the plug-in to its proper directory, just run the GIMP. It should automatically find new plug-ins.
