View Full Version : Running Windows XP version of Matlab R2007a/b under Fusion and Parallels

Anybody has experience running the Windows version of Matlab/Simulink/SimMech on a MBP under Vmware Fusion or Parallels? I wonder how the computation and graphics performance is like. Thanks.

Doesn't it come with the OS X DVDs in the same package?

There is a bug in the Mac version.

I'm installing the student version of 2007a that I got from school. If you upload an *.m file or something, I could run it and see how it does.

I'm not sure if Matlab takes advantage of dual core, but when I ran Super-Pi in VMware, it was just as fast.

Thanks Andrew. I heard there has been a problem that during model building, when one double clicks on the blocks to modify its properties, Simulink crashes almost all the time. Somebody asked Mathworks. They told him that 2007b will have the bug fixed. As far as I heard, the Windows version of 2007a does not seem to have this problem. Could you please try it under Parallels/VMWare?

I've only done numerical analysis with Matlab. How do I do this model building?

I guess you can just try some of the examples described in the user manuals.
