There's a lot of great shooters coming down in price. Not revolutionary shooters, but good ones all the same. Like you can get Gun for a song now. Also fear, condemned, etc. Great games although not all that revolutionary.

Is that t'other RPG Mistwalker are working on? Because if it's the one I've seen concept art for then I'm a bit excited. BD is a great little RPG, it's not like the soap operas of modern FF games. It's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. Anything this studio makes will get my attention.

Guys there are loads of great games and things to talk about, but the guy asked about shooters and what not. A new thread about Blue Dragon would be great as I'd like to read about it...maybe start one?

Oh no you didn't just dis V. Pinata! :D Seriously though, good game.
OT:
Besides Gears the only shooting games I have are GRAW and COD2. GRAW has gotten a bit stale in my opinion, but it's still good. COD2 is fun, but I'd wait on COD4.

My favorites/future buys (all shooters):
[in no particular order]
Bioshock
Gears of War
Call of Duty 2 and 3 (and soon 4)
Medal of Honor Airborne (first MoH I've liked since the first one)
Perfect Dark Zero (very cheap now...some places under $10...well worth it)
Orange Box (when it's released soon)
Halo 3 (of course)
Rainbow Six Vegas
GRAW 1 and 2
Time Shift (the demo is awesome, I love it)
"Meh" (I'll buy when cheap):
The Darkness
F.E.A.R.
A few not worth your time:
Hour of Victory (horrendous)
Call of Juarez (didn't like it, very plain and generic and visually last-gen)
[I know I'll get hell for this next one since this is MacRumors]
Marathon: Durandal :D (I couldn't stand the demo)

Funny how all of these games are either FPS's are a gun-type game.

No that's LOST ODYSSEY ;)
Eternal Sonata - is a beautiful looking RPG based around the music of Chopin.
It's been getting very good reviews alround. Definetly worth checking out.

wow. thanks for the responses. I'll probably get cod4 (i got cod2 for my mac) and maybe bioshock. timeshift looks good, so i might also get that. To be honest, I despise of RPG and RTS. it's probably because it involves too much thinking.

eeek. You did the move the 360 whilst powered on and disc is spinning routine, resuling in horrid scratched ring on your disc :(
There are ways to resolve this. Some games stores have a disc repair service for a few $ where they take off a thin top layer of the disc, and repair the surface after.
Other than that M$ will probably replace the disc for a few $. My COD2 disc did the same, though I don't blame the 360 it was my silly fault - but I rang the supprt number in the manual and they replaced my disc for €10 at that time.

This is why backups should be allowed. Just wait till you have kids. Those discs are scratched daily. If I didn't mod and have backups I would be out so much money from stupid friends and kids of stupid friends :)

I got PGR3 for £8 ($16US) and love it. I traded in a bunch of DS games and C&C which came with my 360. I got NHL2K7, PGR3, DiRT and Rainbow Six. I only had to pay £10 for all of them. Really pleased!!
Enjoy......

When the rocket shooter appears go and duck behind the wall to your left.
The house to the right will then be targeted and explode when the rocket hits it. It blows a gap in the front of the house. Now activate time control and you can run into the house and up the stairs. ;)
There is another section shortly after that will require you to use TimeShift control yet again. ;)
Enjoy.

We got it in Europe and few weeks after the US, but it was pretty easy to find keys – go to the CoD4 site and look from there for beta keys. I know a few games blog sites are still giving them out*.
In the beta you get 3 maps, loads of game types and about half the abilities and weapons on offer.
The gameplay is intense and well balanced making for a really fun game.
