using migration assistant.
all my files have red crosses on them, and they say i dont have permission to open them.
I can fix this by clicking on the file, and giving me permisson, but this will take forever! what can i do?
also, the assistant didnt seem to transfer most of my songs, (i think the ones i purchased) any way i can move these via firewire?

Weird. It might be a good idea to start again and manually transfer your files. Migration Assistant is pretty buggy. In the meantime, you can change the permissions of a lot of files by moving up the directory to the folder that contains the files, and changing the permissions from there. Then apply the changes to all enclosed items. :)

Okay, well I reckon this might be a case of reformatting and starting again. Migration Assistant is pretty dodgy. Next time around use it for your basic files but skip over settings and apps. :)
