I am a huge racing game fan. I tend to go for the simulation rather than arcade feel in a racing game.

Has anyone had experience with both these games? Which did you find was the better?

I'm buying a 360 this Thursday after my midterm (:D) and I will likely go with the Forza bundle, but I'm curious about PGR4.

I know that PGR 3 sucks! But the new one looks surprisingly better, amazing what devs can squeeze out of a console in a couple of years (:

i beg to differ, i thought the 3rd one was great, forza 2 was not as good in my opinion! 4 looks amazing.

the PGR series is about strictly racing fancy cars in big cities. performing good moves (drifting, etc) gets you "kudos" which acts as money to buy new fancy cars. It personally is my favorite racing series on a MS platform.

Forza has the ability to tune your car, paint it different ways, do this, do that.

I personally don't want to think about how the car functions when I play video games, I just want fancy cars to race with. That is where I feel PGR shines.

they are different games so it depends on what you like. I also believe Forza does not have the "in the car" view which for me is a huge no no...

Forza is very simish
PGR is 65% simish 35% arcade

Both are great games if your a driving nut.

Personally i'm crap at both games but I will be buying PGR4 regardless simply so I can use my wireless steering wheel :D

I would say FM2 sucks (I have PGR3 but not PGR4)
For single player, it's not fun at all. Its like real-time strategy more, if you reduce the difficulty, you get less credit but you still completed it (with less time). So noobs can win all races as well with suggest line and low AI difficulty.

For multiplayer, it's even worse. If you find a game, you have to check many things, damage type, car class, ABS, TCS, sometimes you don't mind them, but you would (at least I would) want to have suggest line forced off. When you're in the lobby, you'll see a SMALL box scrolling thought about the details, saying:
Force off ABS
No
Force off TCS
No
...
Car Manufacturer
Any
Car Class
Any
Power
Any
Engine
Any
...
I have no idea why can't they put it in

Force off
Suggest line, ABS, STM

Car restrictions
Class A, Porsche

Moreover, it's quite buggy, you cannot see which lap the car is in when you're spectating.

PGR is more fun in multiplayer, but the single player focuses very much on Kudos, which some people like it and some people don't. (Kudos is what you get if you drive "with style", I don't see why does it look better if you do some 360s in the middle of track or drifting on a straight road though)

Sorry for my bad English since it's my second language.
