I'm researching the various methods to do boot camp through an external drive. It seems like this this (http://tubeshards.wordpress.com/2006/12/05/install-windows-to-a-macintosh-usb-drive/) is the best method, and is won't leave a 5GB partition on your internal drive. I would like to avoid removing my internal hard drive, so I had this idea:
- Follow the steps to create a USB bootable Windows installer CD.
- Install this to an external drive through a desktop PC, hard drives easily disconnected if need be.
- Option boot on MacBook to the USB drive, install the Boot Camp drivers.
Has anyone tried this?
