View Full Version : Clean Screen (hide/reduce/gray-out menu bar?)

Is there a way to make a completely clean desktop? That is, make even the menu bar go away, or become less noticeable? I've been watching a lot of iTunes videos at less then full screen (due to resolution) and would like to be able to see the video window only. I cleaned my desktop, set the dock to hide, use a black screen for my wallpaper and set all menus to gray.

Seems trivial, but I'd love to be able to make that menu bar disappear.

Set a black background, hide the dock and use Menushade (http://www.nullriver.com/index/products/) to hide the menu bar.
Minimalist nirvana awaits. :)

You could use the built-in zoom (ctrl+mouse wheel) to zoom in just enough to hide the menu bar.

^ Thats what I'd do. Simple, and it gets the job done.

That's because you aren't zooming in far enough. If you only zoom in a little OS X assumes you made a mistake and unzooms for you.

yeah, but if I zoom in much more, everything is pixelated, and I loose screen real estate!
just saying...
