I recently got my new mac and am setting up mail, but it seems it doesnt want to have anything to do with hotmail. Can this work, and if not are there other good places to get an account for mail, or even a self forwarding program?

Hotmail really only works with Outlook, Entourage or Hotmail.com (maybe a few other ways).

Get a free POP account from your school or an online service and you'll be set.

There is a software plugin that allows you to access hotmail and delete inbox messages. From versiontracker: httpmail (http://versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18189)
You can't send with hotmail, but at least allows you to access it through Mail.

how do I install that hotmail plugin? when the folder unzips its empty
