So this friend of mine has an aluminum iMac and for the second time now his retarded girlfriend put the restore DVD into it, changed the password, and logged into his account and signed into all his services and did very bad things with his personal data.

Besides hiding the restore DVD, is it possible to like lock out that capability?

Open Firmware (EFI) password to prevent alternate boot options.

It still does that, right?

Get rid of the girlfriend?

Actually, you can set up a firmware password (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106482) that will prevent the machine from booting from an optical disc.

Restart from your install disc. Instead of continuing with an install select Utilities from the Menu bar. Select Firmware Password Utility and away you go. Write it down somewhere where the girlfriend won't find it, because you WILL forget it!
