Just curious if anyone knows of any. I was using Serene Screen Aquarium for awhile, but it started to bug me since it made the fans on my G5 constantly spin... I guess too much CPU usage.
Can anyone recommend any? :)

I still think Flurry is one of the best. It didn't used to come with the system, I don't think, but it does now. Doesn't it?

Marine Aquarium 2 (http://www.serenescreen.com/product/maquariumx/) is definately my favourite. seems a bit stupid to pay for a screensaver tho doesn't it?

I don't know if I'll ever find it. Maybe someone can help me out.
It looks like you're swimming through an underwater cave. It looks gorgeous. It can't be free, but I'd like to know what it is nonetheless. Any ideas? Or anyone know where I could go to ask this question?

You're talking about Plasma Tunnel, I'll bet. Scroll down in this thread for a link...
And you're right -- it's a beautiful, hypnotic, detailed screensaver. My all time OSX favorite.

i always love these screensaver threads. :D
i love iX Xirtam (a matrix code sort of screensaver, metioned twice already.)
but what's the 'red pill Matrix' screesaver someone mentioned? sounds good.
fluid is also a nice one, i'll have to get version 2. should run a bit better on my new PB than it did on my TiBook 667 :p
oh, i just saw red pill in that massive list of links. i'll have to try that and plazma tunnel... :D

wow. there's some awesome screensavers at http://loops.pardeike.net/. they say that they only make you pay because the cost of hosting them got too much.
from Loops:
if you can find the files somewhere else on the internet, great! You would still need to get the code to register the screensaver and to remove the startup reminder. It's just that we don't allow you to download them for free from our site.
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but to me it looks like they wouldn't mind if you could get them from somewhere else, it's just that they can't afford to host give it away for free. so does anyone know somewhere you could get them for free? i've had a quick look but couldn't find anything... :(

Oh man fluid is so awesome!
I wish I had found it earlier.
I have a question for the people that use it. What is the best theme to use? What do you use?

Plasma Tunnel (http://www.fruitz-of-dojo.de/php/download.php4?dlnr=1) is my all time favourite!
Edit: new link. This one should work (tnx to Phazer80s)
Tnx for pointing that out, shadowfax.

You can also have your screensaver set as a desktop pattern. I for one like to set Beach and have it pan in and out. Very cpu intensive and I wouldn't recommend trying it if you've got less than 32mb of vram. Seems there's been some problems with it not working in 10.2.8 and some builds of 10.3 but no problems here so maybe it's isolated.

RedPill is also a great screensaver. I like it better than the other matrix screensaver, but both are retty good.

Ok... talk about bringing a thread back from (near) death... this one's from 2003...
Anyhow, my favorite screen saver, when I feel like having one, must be either the iTunes Artwork or simply iPhoto Selection. Both native OS X screen savers...
But I do miss my flying toasters from time to time, when nostalgia kicks in... :o ...have to go look for that again... ;)
Edit: Found it (http://www.wurst-wasser.net/cgi-bin/wurst-wasser.net/wiki.pl?SoftwareProjectsOverview)... :D

I like the default RSS screensaver. That always amazes non-mac users.
This one is also really cool:

It's almost like fluid, but runs better and it specifically water.
