How do I get a program OUT of Software Update?

A while back, I downloaded, and then deleted iSync. Now, though, every time run software update, it automatically selects the iSync updates, as if iSync were still installed -- how do I convince software update that I do NOT have iSync.

It's just a minor annoyance, but...

You can select it and make it inactive using a menu option.

I had just assumed that "make inactive" was the same thing as unchecking the checkbox.
