Underclock my Macbook Pro

I was wondering if there is any software that would allow me to underclock my Macbook Pro (significantly). I was thinking that by drastically reducing the CPU and/or GPU (Nvidia) speeds, I could bump up the battery life when I'm on the go and don't need phenomenal cosmic power.

I'm pretty sure that's already in there, you just don't have any control over it. The system will do whatever it feels is best.
