Mail problems

I have a .mac account, I can recieve e-mails but I can not send them from mail, instead I have to go to www.mac.com to send them which is a pain sometimes.

the stmp.mail.com server I think That is what it is called keeps on timing out. Any ideas, I don't think I inputted anything wrong in the system because system preferences did it for me. Please Help

Hi,

I have attached a file with some details of my send mail settings.

If you enter mail and go to :

Menu - Mail - Preferences...

Edit the account for .Mac

Under outgoing server select the options:

I have attached a file showing my outgoing server details. I could be wrong (as I have a few outgoing smtp addresses but)... You should authenticate when sending mail aswell...

Any one else?

thanks but the problem is that the settings that you have is exactly what I have, do you think I have to phone Apple up to talk about this problem, or do you think I should wait until I have panther.
