Hi All,

A question regarding the spell checker in MS-Office. And i'm a total newbe in macword. Im expecting my PB1.25 any day now.

I'm a student and im 'forced' to use MS office in order to stay compatible with the rest of the faculty. But im wandering, although most things are in English at the university.
Some things are still in my native language (Dutch)

Office is not available in Dutch, so i bought the UK version (the only one available to me).

Now here is my question:
Is there a way to add the dutch dicitonary to word, so it can correct Dutch as well?

I know, in windows, you have incredible expenicive language CD's, which you can install and you have access to extra languages.

What is the way the mac works?

Any help is appciciated

I am not sure about Dutch spellcheck in MSOffice, but if you need it you might find it in OpenOffice.org. This is free open source software that includes spellcheck for most versions. You can get more info about it in Dutch here: http://nl.openoffice.org/index.html An OSX native version has not yet been released, but the current version will run in OSX in an X11 window.

not sure if there's Dutch spellchecker in MS Office. however, i routinely type Japanese letters in Office X and there's a pretty good built-in dictionary for Japanese words.

I imagine there's a preference area where you can specify the spelling... I don't have an access to Office X right now, but can
check and come back in a bit...
