Question 1:
By accident I had the 'create folder' option on, when I originally built up my song library in iTunes. I'm not too happy about this, I'd rather have all my songs in 1 folder. Is this in someway 'undoable'?

Question 2:
In Winamp I liked the key(board) commands to scroll through a song (right/ left arrow). The only way I can scroll in iTunes is by dragging the slider in the display at the top. Is there some way to scroll with your keys?

1. Uncheck the create folder and then go to Advanced>Consolidate Library...

2. My iTunes scrolls just fine with Keys, then again it is the OSX version.

Even with "Keep My iTunes folder organized" pref UNCHECKED, it will create a folder when you rip a CD.

If anyone has figured out how to keep iTunes from doing this, let me know.

Or woud a Consolidate command after every rip "flatten" the folder structure?

I know this advice won't help if you really want to have strict manual control over your music, but I gave up on it not too long after installing iTunes (for Mac) way back when. Previously, while using SoundJam (a wonderful app which was bought and simplified into iTunes) I was fairly meticulous about where the song files went. But once I realized that iTunes was pretty much the only way I interacted with my music, I stopped bothering. As long as the metadata (ID3 tags, whatever) are correct, my music is nicely organized. And when the metadata can't quite hack it (e.g. soundtracks with several artists) I just use playlists. So... if you're willing, you'll probably find it easier to give sit back and let iTunes be your way of dealing with the files. (There's always "Show song file" when you right-click on a track in the Windows version.)
