Guitar Hero 3 guitar not working

I just did a fresh install of the game (mac/pc hybrid) and the guitar is not recognized. I uninstalled and removed the aspyr plist from my library preferences and reinstalled, and it still does not recognize the device. Any ideas on how to get it working? Maybe the Guitar is not supposed to work with the Mac because I noticed it has an xbox 360 button on it?

No, that's not the problem. Maybe you're using some input device manager that interferes with USB devices?

I am not sure, but all my other usb devices work, such as my iphone. I checked the system profiler and it sees the xploder usb guitar hero device. I am going to see if something in my library is causing a conflict because I remember about a year ago I tried installing a wireless xbox 360 controller.

I can't figure it out...I will try to load it on to Windows and see if it works that way.
