HELP PLEASE iM LOST

OK heres the problem i have a VR2442 VD Vonage router and my xbox360 is connected to it and when i check the xboxlive test it says my NAT is moderate but i want it to be open i tried connecting a WRTG54G to thevonage router and connecting the xbox to the WRTG54G and it says its open but when i play it wont let me join parties of other open NAT people and so it pretty much sucks can someone help me out
