One of the most annoying things I've found of networking on a mac is that there's no way to search the local network for what you're looking for. You have to go folder by folder looking. Is there a 3rd party app that allows you to do this? Some sort of hack or way around it? If there's a way to do it, that'd be great if someone could let me know. Thanks.

Using the Panther Finder's File>File>Find menu item, you can select "Everywhere" or "Specific places." Everywhere means all mounted volumes, whether local disks (fixed or removeable) or network volumes. Specific places allows you to select among your mounted volumes, local disks or network volumes. Just what improvements would you like to see?

Well I was more hoping for something to search everything that shows up under Network>Local Folder without having to go through and mounting each individual server. Is there a way to do this?

no...i do have access...as a guest. I could go through the process of mounting each server as a logged in guest and then search, but I want to know if there's a way to do this before mounting the servers.
