Hey everybody. here's the problem. For the past few days, every MP3 I download causes itunes to crash. I've tried Limewire, Kazaa, Poisened, you name it. I can put in a CD and import with no problem, as well as play older MP3's I've had on their for months. It's just the newer ones. They play fine the first time, then the second time......nothing. The thing just stops, and says that it has shut down. Anyone know what this is? Thanks.

Well, I guess this could be a way of iTunes tellin you it doesn't like stolen music. Naw, just kidding :p.

I would try deleting iTunes preferences in you Library folder in your home folder. If that doesn't fix it, re-download iTunes from Apple's website and reinstall it. That should definately take care of it.

Here's my guess:

You have iTunes set (in "Advanced" preferences) to copy files to your iTunes music folder, and something (permissions or a full disk are the likely culprits) is keeping iTunes from making the copy. When you first import it, it loads it into memory from the original copy of the file. When you try to play it again, it tries to play the copy that it didn't make (or didn't complete) in your music folder.

So, try turning off "Copy music to my iTunes Music Folder" in advanced preferences. If that doesn't work I have no idea.

Try repairing permissions and see what happens.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I gutted my ibook of itunes, then re-installed it. Didn't want to have to do that because I lost my playlists and such, but it worked!! Thanks again.
