Is it possible to run M$ instant messenger within VPC? All of my contacts are on MS and I don't want to try to change everyone over. I just got a new PB and am trying to research as much as possible before I start configuring. I don't believe they make it for OSX.
What about 3rd party clients? Any that work with MSIM?
Thanks...
Steve

they do make a (stunted) version of their instant messaging software for OS X... latest version is 3.5 I think. I've been able to run other internet programs from VPC, so I don't see why your proposed action wouldn't work as well.

Yeah shadow95 is correct, there is an MSN Messenger 3.5.1 for Mac (with an MSN 6 for Mac rumored to be in development for next year). If you need the advanced features of MSN 6 for Windows, it does indeed run in VPC.

MSNIM for OSX 3.5 works just fine - it even replicates the contacts lists like it should. You should be fine running it native.

Clients like Fire and Adium work you can get them off at Versiontracker.com (http://www.versiontracker.com)
But you don't have to move your contacts, everything is stored on a M$ server, all you have to do is sign in!

I use MSN Messenger all the time when I'm running VPC (at work).
MSN Messenger for OSX like most OSX apps, looks better (tho lacks some cute features). It also works quite well but (like a lot of OSX apps - grrrrrr) has problems behind our work's firewall (it disconnects every few minutes). Which is the only reason I run MSNM in VPC.
