Hi,

Im in the uk and wish to take a 30 day mobileme trial, however for payment options they only take, visa, mastercard or amex, well i have a maestro (debit) card and have no access to a credit card, is there any way to use this card or get a trial without a credit card?

Maestro is part of Mastercard AKA if it says Mastercard you can use Maestro.

I signed up with a pre-pay idt prime card from the new agent. Fantastic for buying stuff online without the worry of getting ripped off.

That's because Maestro and MasterCard are entirely different.

Unfortunately, MobileMe (and .mac) do not support local payment methods.

The Apple Store and iTunes Store will take Maestro and Solo, but MobileMe does not.

Your only option is to get a MasterCard/Visa of some sort - prepaid would be the easiest to get. Alternatively you can buy a MobileMe box from www.apple.com/uk/store using your Maestro card. This would include a subscription code - not ideal for the trial though.
